After the presentations and panels of the first day of FIPS ’n’ Chips 2026, the Crypto-V Alliance will celebrate the people and organizations advancing cryptographic validation. The award ceremonies will recognize three achievements: a major zero-queue milestone for the Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP), successful FIPS 140-3 validations, and the expertise of laboratory professionals who have passed the Cryptographic Validation Program (CVP) Exam.

Recognizing the CMVP’s zero-queue milestone
On behalf of the Crypto-V Alliance, Alicia Squires of Amazon Web Services and Marc Ireland of NXP will present the CMVP with an award recognizing its recent FIPS 140-3 Zero-Review-Pending-Queue Milestone. “Clearing the queue of newly submitted modules awaiting review is a significant step toward shorter validation times. This achievement reflects the dedication of the teams at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (CCCS), supported by collaboration across the validation community.
Celebrating vendors and their laboratories
CMVP managers David Hawes of NIST and Kailai Chen of CCCS will present Crypto-V Alliance recognition awards to vendors that received a FIPS 140-3 certificate in 2025 or 2026. Successful validation takes sustained effort and close cooperation between vendors, laboratories, and the CMVP. We encourage vendors to invite their laboratories to join them at the ceremony and celebrate that shared accomplishment.
Honoring laboratory professionals
Hawes and Chen will also present Crypto-V Alliance recognition awards to laboratory personnel who have successfully passed the CVP Exam, recognizing their knowledge and commitment to professional excellence in cryptographic testing.
Join the community celebration
Many companies and laboratory professionals have already registered for recognition, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements. If you have not yet signed up, we invite you to take part in the in-person ceremonies:
We are grateful to Alicia Squires and Marc Ireland for presenting the award to the CMVP and honored to have CMVP managers David Hawes and Kailai Chen then present the Crypto-V Alliance’s recognition awards to vendors and laboratory personnel.
