FIPS ’n’ Chips Nears Capacity and Opens Selected Sessions to Virtual Attendees

FIPS ’n’ Chips 2026 is only 10 days away, and we are nearing capacity! We look forward to welcoming the cryptographic validation community to Austin on October 26–27 for two days of learning and discussion.

Meeting in person offers valuable opportunities to connect with colleagues, exchange ideas between sessions, and speak directly with experts. In response to interest from our community, we are also opening selected portions of the conference to virtual attendance for members of the Cryptographic Module User Forum (CMUF).

The following sessions on October 27 will be available virtually:

  • Section One of the CMVP Deep Dive Track: ISO/IEC 19790:2025 Adoption (9:00am – 10:30am CT).
  • FIPS Beginner Training Track: The training track for those looking to build or refresh their understanding of cryptographic module validation (9:00am – 12:30pm CT).

This limited hybrid format extends the educational benefits of FIPS ’n’ Chips to the broader CMUF community while preserving the conference’s primary focus on in-person participation. Virtual attendance is primarily intended for listening. Virtual attendees may submit questions through the WebEx meeting chat for consideration by the moderator; however, priority will be given to questions from in-person attendees.

Not a CMUF member yet? Membership is free. Anyone interested in cryptographic module validation is encouraged to join and take part in discussions with peers, testing laboratories, and government representatives.

Virtual registration is available for a symbolic $10 fee supporting the nonprofit Crypto-V Alliance.
