The Cryptographic Module Validation Bootcamp
Cryptographic Module Validation
FIPS ‘n’ Chips is a two-day cryptographic module validation bootcamp organized by the Crypto-V Alliance, a registered non-profit organization dedicated to advancing cybersecurity and cryptographic assurance education.
The event brings together experts from academia, industry, government, testing laboratories, and certification bodies to explore the technologies, standards, and processes that shape trusted cryptographic modules.

Bootcamp Day 1
October 26th
Day 1 provides a broad and practical overview of the cryptographic module ecosystem, covering FIPS standards, cryptographic implementations, validation methodologies, testing practices, and certification processes.
Whether you are designing, developing, testing, validating, or deploying cryptographic modules, the program offers valuable insights from experienced practitioners.
Bootcamp Day 2
October 27th
Day 2 focuses on the newly published ISO/IEC 19790:2025, the next-generation international standard for cryptographic modules. Through an in-depth tutorial and expert discussions, participants will gain a clear understanding of the evolution from today’s FIPS 140-3 framework—which adopts ISO/IEC 19790:2012—to future validation programs based on the 2025 edition. Special attention will be given to migration strategies, technical changes, and practical considerations for a smooth transition to the next generation of cryptographic module standards.

Tasting
Cryptography
FIPS ‘n’ Chips
FIPS ‘n’ Chips also celebrates the upcoming Springer publication Tasting Cryptography: FIPS ‘n’ Chips. Just as a tasting menu offers something for every palate, the conference invites everyone to sample the world of cryptography at the depth that matches their interests and experience.
Whether you are a designer, developer, tester, validator, certifier, researcher, student, or policymaker, you will find opportunities to learn, connect, and discover how cryptography underpins modern cybersecurity.
Join us in Austin for two days of learning, collaboration, and conversation about the future of cryptographic module security.
The full speaker lineup and detailed schedule are currently being finalized and will be published on this website as we approach the event.
