Christopher (Chris) Celi is a Computer Scientist with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), where he serves as Program Manager for the Cryptographic Algorithm Validation Program (CAVP) and leads key initiatives to modernize the Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP). In this role, he works to improve the efficiency, scalability, and transparency of cryptographic validation through automation and advanced testing methodologies.
Chris has played a leading role in the development of the Automated Cryptographic Module Validation Program (ACMVP), a collaborative effort between NIST, industry, accredited laboratories, and international partners to streamline cryptographic module testing and validation. He has also contributed to research in cryptographic implementation testing, entropy assessment, and validation technologies, and is a co-author of numerous NIST publications on CMVP modernization and cryptographic assurance.
At the conference, Chris will share insights into the evolving landscape of cryptographic validation, automation, and the future direction of NIST’s validation programs, drawing on his extensive experience helping shape the next generation of cryptographic assurance.
Chris also received the Pinnacle of Innovation Award from the CMUF in 2026.
