We are excited to announce the program for FIPS ‘n’ Chips 2026, taking place October 26–27, 2026, at The University of Texas at Austin.
This year’s program brings together perspectives from academia, industry, and government to examine the technologies, standards, research, and practical challenges shaping the future of cryptographic security.
The presentations selected for FIPS ‘n’ Chips underwent a rigorous double-blind review process, helping ensure a program built around technical quality, relevance, and substance. Following the conference, Springer Nature will publish the post-conference proceedings, extending the reach of the work presented in Austin to the broader cryptographic and cybersecurity community.
From PQC to the next version of ISO/IEC 19790
Across the two days, FIPS ‘n’ Chips will tackle some of the most consequential issues facing cryptography today, including:
- Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) and preparing cryptographic systems for the quantum transition
- Entropy and randomness, including the foundations of trustworthy cryptographic noise sources
- AI and cryptography, and the rapidly developing relationship between artificial intelligence and cryptographic security
- The transition to ISO/IEC 19790:2025, examining what the new generation of the international standard means for the cryptographic module community
- The continuing evolution of FIPS 140-3 and the CMVP ecosystem
What makes FIPS ‘n’ Chips different is not simply the range of subjects. It is the range of people examining them.
Academia brings new research and ideas. Government brings the standards, programs, and assurance perspective. Industry brings the experience of building, testing, validating, and deploying cryptography in the real world.
For two days in Austin, those worlds meet in the same room. Explore the full FIPS ‘n’ Chips 2026 schedule and register today:
