Alexander Calis is the Deputy Program Manager for the U.S. Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP)<\/a> at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), where he works within the Computer Security Division’s Cryptographic Technology Group. In this role, he helps guide the validation of cryptographic modules used to protect sensitive information across government and industry, while supporting the ongoing evolution of the CMVP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alexander has contributed extensively to the development and maintenance of NIST guidance for cryptographic module validation and testing. He is the author and co-author of numerous NIST Special Publications and CMVP Validation Authority updates, including publications related to approved security functions and ISO\/IEC 24759, and has been actively involved in initiatives to improve entropy source validation and modernize the validation process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the conference, Alexander will share his expertise on the current state and future direction of cryptographic module validation, offering insights into evolving standards, validation guidance, and the technologies that underpin trusted cryptographic implementations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
